Heritage Poster Design Competition

The TSA (Toronto Society of Architects) in association with the Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC) and Heritage Toronto invites entrants for its 2008 Poster Design Competition. The purpose of the competition is to generate an image that draws attention to the value of Toronto’s historic, built environment and illustrates how it might be protected and re-used through environmentally-sustainable, economically-beneficial and innovative solutions. Cash prizes will be awarded to the three top winners. Full details about the competition, including a copy of the competition brief, are available by writing to: poster@torontosocietyofarchitects.ca . Announcements and exhibition of winners will be made at the Toronto the Good festival, which is taking place on Tuesday, May 27, 2008.

First Chicago International Poster Biennial 2008

While Chicago is well known for its architecture, theatre, fine art, public landscaping, and music scenes, there is a significant lack of applied visual arts in public spaces. We welcome your entries into this inaugural design event, and we look forward to bringing the international design community together in Chicago. Entries must be no smaller than 42x59.4 cm (A2 size) and no larger than 120x180 cm. Entrants may submit up to six works for each artist / designer. Series of no more than three posters that constitute a single work will be accepted as a single entry. Only printed posters by offset or silkscreen prints are accepted.

SeventhStreet Desktop Wallpaper Contest

SeventhStreet is inviting creatives of all disciplines to grab any old images that may be laying around and recycle them into a new fresh idea. Entrants will create a desktop wallpaper design, incorporating either our logo or some other representation of SeventhStreet. The winner will receive a SeventhStreet Swag Pack, a $100 iTunes Gift Card, and will have their entry as one of our featured downloads for the month. Examples and more details are on our website. No limit to the number of entries.

Emporio Armani Advertising Contest

Emporio Armani fragrances are inviting designers and filmmakers to create a print or video to advertise their Get Together range of his and hers perfumes. After the initial selection of national winners, which will be chosen by democratic vote, a jury presided over by Mr. Armani will select the two international winners (one film and one print design). The winners will see their designs broadcast worldwide and will win a prize of €10,000 (video) or €5,000 (visual print).
