National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest 2014
The 26th annual National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest is now accepting submissions. Harness the power of photography and share your stunning travel experiences from around the globe with us. Enter today for a chance to win a National Geographic Alaska's Inside Passage Expedition and have your photo published in National Geographic Traveler magazine.
Submit in any of the following categories:
• Travel Portraits: Locals working, playing, celebrating
• Outdoor Scenes: Landscapes, aerials, wildlife, waterscapes
• Sense of Place: Pictures that evoke the essence of a place
• Spontaneous Moments: Fun, quirky, surprising, and unrehearsed moments
Photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Contest. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies or photographic prints are acceptable. All digital files must be 5 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or .jpg format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).
Photographs must have been taken within two years before the date of entry and may not previously have won an award in any National Geographic photo contests. Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are not acceptable.
The entry fee is US$15 per entry. There is no limit on the number of entries per person.
Contest is open worldwide only to individuals who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry.
Contest is void in Cuba, Iran, New Jersey, North Korea, the Province of Quebec, Sudan, Syria and Vermont.
The winner of the 26th annual National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest will have a chance to go on a 8-day National Geographic Alaska's Inside Passage Expedition for two.
The second prize is a 5-day National Geographic Photography Workshop and the third prize a 6-day cruise for two from Schooner American Eagle and Heritage.
