Organised by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, the Global Canvas Art Competition encourages young people all over the world to express their concern for the environment and, in particular, the endangered species with whom we share our fragile planet, through art and poetry.

The theme for 2017 is "Our Precious Planet".

You are invited to get together with your friends, class, year or school and be as creative as you can using art, poetry, sculpture and words to create your own mini-exhibition. Each group's entry should be created to fill a wall space 6x6ft and a table 6ftx2ft.

Set your exhibition up at school and submit a photograph of your entry along with any poetry as word documents plus 200 words describing how you have interpreted the theme. Also submit a video or PowerPoint presentation which will be shown at the Natural History Museum (London, UK) if you are selected as a winner (videos must be no more than 3 minutes long).

Entries will be judged on the quality of art, quality of poetry, interpretation of the theme, level of collaboration and creativity.

Entry costs 20 GBP (approx. 25 USD) per submission.

    Eligibility

Each entry must comprise the work of children all of whom are under 16 years old.

    Prize

Shortlisted winners will be chosen from the photographic submission and video/presentation. The successful groups will be invited to recreate their display at the Natural History Museum between 10-12am on the morning of the event on 23rd March 2017.

Judging to select the final 3 winners will take place between 12-1pm with the guest speakers talk and prize giving between 1-2.30pm.
