Renaissance Photography Prize 2012

The Renaissance Photography Prize is an international photography competition which raises money to support younger women with breast cancer.
Renaissance is run entirely by volunteers, and all the entry fee is donated to the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care. Every penny goes to charity. Everyone gives their time and expertise for free which has allowed us to raise over £150,000 so far.
There are 5 categories:
• Expression
• Environment
• Memory
• Perspective
• Disorientation
You can enter as many images as you wish to the Competition. Retouching / manipulation of digital images is accepted provided that all works are original works and not copies of other people’s works.
The cost of entering (the Entrance Fees) is:
• £15 for a single Entry ($23)
• £25 for up to 3 Entries ($40)
• £40 for up to 6 Entries ($60)Eligibility
The Competition is open to professional and amateur photographers worldwide. If you are under 16 you must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission to enter.Prize
Prize winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the private view and awards ceremony. If the Renaissance Winner, Category Winners and Film Prize Winner are unable to attend the Private View their prize money will be transferred to them (less bank charges) within 10 days of the Exhibition.
100 selected images will be exhibited in a one week public exhibition (11 - 16 June 2012) at the prestigious Mall Galleries in the heart of London.
Of these 4 images in each of the five categories will be shortlisted for a prize. All the shortlisted photographers will receive a double ticket to the celebrity private view and awards ceremony at which the following prizes will be awarded:
• The overall Renaissance Prize 2011 winner will win £3,000 (approx. $4,800).
• £500 for the winner in each of the 5 categories.
• The jury will select the best film entry. The winner of this prize will be awarded camera equipment worth £1,000.
