We are searching for an illustrator for a new children’s book (7-9 years), being written by the author, Gareth Thompson, and provisionally entitled “Between the Moon and the Earth”. We are looking for an illustrator who can produce work that invokes the spirit, history and folklore of the area and landscape, and create exciting new experiences from it.

The competition is one part of a redevelopment project seeking to inspire and enthuse people about the Lancashire coastline between Cleveleys and Fleetwood, by creating new narratives and artworks inspired by the environment and mythology of the area. The winner will receive a commission to illustrate our story for a fee of £8000.

    Eligibility

All entrants must be 18 or over on 9 April 2010 and a permanent resident of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland. However this competition is not open to employees or the immediate families of The Promoter. Entrants may be asked to provide proof of age and place of residency.

    Prize

The competition winner will receive a commission contract from Litfest Publications with an £8000 fee (approx. $12,300 USD) attached to create the illustrations for the provisionally titled work “Between the Moon and the Earth” written by Gareth Thompson.
