In the occasion of the Treviso Comic Book Festival 2015, the Italian comics association Fumetti in Treviso announces the Fourth International Competition for New Authors.

The theme of the 2015 competition is "Future Handicraft": the compositions must be stories related to the handicraft, craftsmen, their skills, instruments, places, in the past, present and especially future.

To enter the contest, candidates should make a comics story from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 boards on the theme of the event. Boards must be maximum size of A3 (29.7 cm × 42). The boards can be produced using any manual technique, using black and white or color. Digital colouring and lettering are allowed, however the original must be sent. The non-Italian participants can send their works with lettering in English or French.

Works that result from collaboration between several people are allowed (e.g. artist, writer, colourist for a single project). The stories must be unpublished.

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility

The competition is open to all newcomers cartoonists and comics artists over 18 years (born before 31 December 1997) from anywhere in the world.

For newcomer it is meant a non-professional author who has no employment contracts in the field of design and has never published with national publishers.

Prize

A panel of experts will select the works that will be exhibited during the next edition of Treviso Comic Book Festival, from September 24 to 27, 2015. Moreover, the first three winners will get:

• First place: 500 Euro (approx. 550 USD)
• Second place: 300 Euro (approx. 330 USD)
• Third place: 200 Euro (approx. 220 USD)
