Derwent Art Prize 2013

    The cumberland pencil company is delighted to announce the inaugural derwent art prize for works created in pencil. Artists are invited to submit up to 6 images in digital format (jpg, tiff or png max 4MB file size and 3000 x 3000 pixels resolution).

    The work entered must be created in pencil (including water-soluble, pastel, graphite, charcoal or colouring pencils). The work must not exceed 182cms in its greatest dimension. There is no minimum size limit.

    The Prize is open to both 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional works. All entered work must have been completed within the last 3 years. The work selected for exhibition must be available from September to December 2013.

    There is an entry fee of £10 (approx. 16 USD) application fee for the first work and £2 per additional works. Copyright of all works remains the property of the artist.

    Eligibility


    The Prize is open to all living British and international artists over the age of 18 years old on 1 July 2013. A third party (e.g. gallery, agent or other representative) may submit work on behalf of the artist.

    Prize


    A total prize fund of £8,750 (approx. 14,000 USD) will be awarded at the Private View at Mall Galleries, London on 18 September 2013 and will be divided as follows:

    • First prize: £5,000
    • Second Prize: £2,500
    • Third Prize: £500
    • People’s Choice Award: £500
    • UKCPS Award for Excellence: £250

    The UK Coloured Pencil Society Award for Excellence also includes a year’s membership to the society.
