    The AOI Illustration Awards are the most comprehensive and highest profile illustration awards based in the UK. The AOI Illustration Awards will promote exceptional work by illustrators and present illustration as a major force in global visual culture. The awards are international and open to illustrators working across all sectors and in any medium.

    There are two main awards :

    • New Talent Award, for work by students and new graduates
    • Professional Award, for work by professional illustrators

    And there are eight categories:

    • Advertising
    • Books
    • Children’s Books
    • Design
    • Editorial & Social Comment
    • Research & Knowledge Communication
    • Public Realm
    • Self-Initiated

    The entries are assessed by a panel of respected judges including illustrators, industry professionals and commentators. The Chair of Judges for 2013 is writer, critic and Editor of Varoom Magazine, Dr John O’Reilly.

    Entry fees:

    • £25 (inc VAT) per entry for AOI Members and student entries
    • £45 (inc VAT) per entry for Non AOI members

    Work selected for the Awards Exhibition will be subject to a hanging fee of £75 for AOI members and £150 for non AOI members.

    Eligibility


    The Awards are open to illustrators working in any medium, context or geographical location.

    Prize


    The main award winners are selected from the New Talent and Professional winner for each category.

    The Award Winners will be announced at a prestigious Awards Ceremony at Somerset House in central London in October 2013. Work by Award Winners, Category Winners and other selected artists will be exhibited in the Terrace Rooms at Somerset House in the Autumn 2013 and published in a specially designed
    awards catalogue.
